What are we ALL doing to give a better life to our children and grandchildren?

I believe what we are all doing is, taking advantage of the goods the Earth is still offering to all of us, with little or even no care for the next generations.

It is no longer a secret that the planet is getting warmer and its future after a number of years is uncertain. In one of the hundreds TV channels now available, approximately 2 week ago, there was a program showing how the ice in the North Pole are melting due to rising temperatures. They were also saying that after 40 to 50 years the Earth will be warmer by 5C with a whole lot of consequences. Apparently the Ice caps (being in white colour) are reflecting the rays of the sun thus keeping the Earth cooler.

Less Ice, More Heat.

Having been myself in many hot regions around the Mediterranean, Africa and Saudi Arabia one thing is evident: The white colour dominates in clothes as well as buildings. We all know that the white colour reflects the sun thus keeping the body or a building cooler.

Having then seen the above TV program and caring for children as well as for the Earth I came up with the following idea:

Why don’t governments, around the world, encourage property owners and fund them, to paint the roofs of the houses/buildings white, and scientists to design a paint that will do a better job. The white colour will not affect our daily lives. Assuming always, that my theory is correct we will improve the condition of the planet and have more chances for a better future.

I have not discussed this idea of mine with any qualified person in this field because I do not know any of them.

Should you have any better suggestions please let me know and if it is within my powers and abilities I will definitely look into it.
